Well, I have been lazy again, but thats only due to being so busy with driving to Mt Buller and then doing it again 2 weeks later.

Mt Buller epic No 1:

7th, 8th & 9th March.  About 25 of us from MTB Skills Race Development Squad stayed in a lodge on Mt Buller and rode many many trails.

Day 1: 30km return trip to Craigs Hut via Mt Stirling.  Ouch!  The hills in this ride were unrelenting and after many mechanicals and punctures we all arrived at Craigs Hut.  Upon getting there, we soon realised that we would be riding back up the hills we just descending.  Oh...the altitude!

Great to see everyone let their hair down that night too.  We opted out of the night ride...way too tired from the exceptionally tough day on the bike. Did I mention that many stupid acts followed...

Day 2:  5 of us rode down to Mirimbah on the Roadies and rode back up again.  Really nice ride.  About 10 went with Adam and rode the XC trails.  The rest bought lift tickets and hired full face helmets and rode the downhill trails.
Us roadies spent the afternoon riding the XC trails as well.

Poor Norm had a massive crash and hurt himself quite a bit, lost skin and was bruised a battered.  Adams crew ate loads of dirt but stayed safe.  My crew stayed injury free but still shattered by the end of the day. Some went for a night ride, but most just hung out and did stupid things again...well into the night!

Here are some pics!

Day 3: Klingsporn trail from Buller to Mirimbah.

Wow, what a scary ride.  42 minutes of downhill. The trail was full of rocks, off camber 90% of the way and only a foot or so wide at best.  An effort to find the opportunity to take the fingers off the brakes and to sit down on the seat for even one second.  We all agreed we would have loved to do it again.  November this year we are going back again!  Bring it on.
