I first met Donna around March 2006 when a work colleague of mine suggested that she might be able to help out with my cycling.

I had only just started out mountain bike racing and was very unfit on the bike but had the will and want to take it further.

On Track Images PDF Print
Hey Rich and Donna…

Thanks for the fame and fortune in Issue 32 FREEWHEEL magazine on Pg 37!

On Track Images can be seen around most Mountain biking events, especially enduros.

Thanks guys for taking photos of us average punters and pros alike.

You do an awesome job.  I really like this one you took of me at Gravity 12 hour this year.  Everyone I have shown loves it too.  Most recently they were at the Kona 24 hour at Forrest.  Check out www.fullgaspromotions for all links and info for this event.

Go to www.ontrackimages.com.au   to see their work.

SRAM - sexy gear! PDF Print

http://www.sram.com/en/srammountain/components/x0/rearderailleur.php

By now I have become an expert on some of the reasons the XO RD is better than the normal.

The outer cage being carbon fibre is a real help when you hit “stick or rock central”.  I have broken two of these cages in a rock garden and a stick festival!  Both occasions the cage just smashed to pieces and saved the mechanism from any further structural damage.  Monza imports (http://www.monzaimports.com.au/ ) even sell XO RD repair kits for this reason…you can re build your beloved RD and give it a new lease on life minus the carbon cage…and you and never have enough spare RD’s lying around!

Of course, the other awesome concept is the 1:1 actuation technology of the gear change mech.  In chick talk,” when I want to change up or down a gear, I just do it and it happens…bang!”

Oh…and it also looks pretty sexy with its 20th anniversary GOLD bolt and graphics…ooooo!  Bling for free!

I used to use the XO shifters, but Rob Eva sent me a pair of AMY grip shifts and one slight click of the grip and “bang” again, the gear is changed…I just leave my finger free for braking only, no gear changes required.

At the beginning of September 2007, Lorenzo Moro of TCF agreed to take me on board as a sponsored rider.

My first bike needed was a SCOTT Spark 30, to manage comfortably a 12 hour solo effort at the Subaru 12 hour (www.fullgaspromotions.com.au ) so in conjunction with Netti (http://www.netti.com.au ) we struck up a deal for this new machine.

It landed in my hands on the Thursday 13th September and the race was on Saturday 15th September.  Norm and I took it for a test ride at the Mt.Cottrell course on the Friday and at 9am the next day it took its first 12 hour flogging, incident free.

Torq Australia PDF Print
During the CHASE THE SUN series at Lysterfield, I got to meet Genevieve Clark from TORQ Australia from an introduction through Rob Faull.  Since then I have been buying various TORQ products to give me energy and assist with my whole nutrtion package for racing MTB, road and whilst training in general on a daily basis.

Most recently I have used these products listed below in the Kona 24 Hour on December 1st and 2nd 2007.  More importantly, I came 1st in SOLO FEMALE.

My nutrition plan was simple:

  1. Keep hydrated with an energy drink that supplies all essential minerals etc…as well as energy
  2. Keep eating solid foods
  3. Avoid cramping at all costs
  4. No hunger flats or “bonking”

I found the Gels to be really good tasting. They actually tasted like the fruit stated on the label. There is a lot in a tube, so you need a long fire trail section to consume it, but defiantly get a lot of value for your money in one tube.
