Training for Scott and Kona - hurt box time! PDF Print

...since the last time I wrote, I have been perpetually busy.

We had our course at You Yangs and had a great day.  The weather held out ok and I know my group worked really hard on all the climbs and descents we tackled.

After the skills course we held our RDS skills session on the Link Track in the uphill version.  Some falls of course occured, but who would have guessed that on our way back to the car park that our mate "lacey Knickers" would have an O.T.H(over the handlebars) incident on one of those stupid jumps, that simulate a waterbar, kick you up on the other side of the jump.  Thankfully David is ok, albeit a cracked verterbrae!  But you should have seen his helmet, if you are not wearing you helmet these days, you are a dick head!

Calum, Jess, Adam and NormThe following week my young steed Calum came out to Forrest from Colac for some hill and MTB Training.  We had some great rides doing hill repeats up the road and MTB hill repeats plus night riding galore.  We even went to Apollo Bay on the MTB 's for ice cream.

The week culminated in a weekend away to Bendigo for camping and MTB race, Bendigo's 6 hour MTB enduro.  There were around 12 of the Race Development Squad in attendance too.

Bike Riding, sleeping and new stuff! PDF Print

PhotobucketHey, I have a new bike

Its a Giant Anthem XO.  Lorenzo at Torquay Cycling Factory rang on Friday 12th Sept with the awesome news, so Sal Norm and me drove in and got the young steed and took him home for some breaking in.

We already had planned a night ride with Glen Jacobs and crew at Forrest at 7pm. The only thing really weird was having wide truck handlebars as we did not have enough time to change it.
Gee I do love night riding, and the Yo Yo is in the best of conditions at the moment.  Totally fun fast and sweet to ride.  My new bike ate up all the bumps and logs like they were flat which in turn increased my confidence to go faster on everything.  Smiles all round and big thumbs up.

Some sensational rides, great friends, good weather...finally! PDF Print

So we had the awesome MTB ride on Sunday 7th Sept.  Everyone had a great day and we will most definitely be doing that again sometime soon!  Stay tuned.

My mate Sally had booked in for her SLABS week some time ago.  (Sallys Lard Arse Back in the Saddle) Staying in the loft with her Swag made her feel like she was camping and away from the normality of working life.  I had warned her of "turkey turkey", the male Turkey the gobble gobbles every morning just before 6am. Our new addition of Sylvester too (the Bantom Rooster) added to the morning banter causing Sallys lay ins to be rudely disturbed.

PhotobucketSal soon warmed to the feathered fowl and was up at a reasonable hour - NOT!  Hey Sal, how on earth do you stay in bed until 9am?  I have asked Sally to give me a week at her house called JETSI (Jess's ability to sleep in), she says she can teach me all the skills i need to achieve this including others for no extra charge.  There is a skill only Sally has and it is a sort of telepathy in the supermarket of being able to make packets of chips and choc coated scotch fingers land in your trolley at will.  Wow!
